Compiled: 1 March 2009

Ah, the start of a new decade!

1960

January: The high school was completed finally. With so many buildings marked for construction the tiny brains of the construction workers must get confused.

201

March: A bunkhouse was completed.

May: Five immigrants arrived by freighter.

September: A bunkhouse was completed.

November: One immigrant arrived by freighter, and a bunkhouse was completed.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §40,975 in the treasury, with §9,719 in profits and §4,600 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: None, gratifyingly.

1961

January: My aide brought to my attention the fact that we had yet to deal with the understaffing issues at the high school, so a request was sent off for the hire of a teacher at a cost of §700.

March: Six immigrants arrived by freighter, among whom was the promised teacher.

April: I ordered the construction of a fishing wharf, another construction office, a second teamster's office, a logging camp, and some road extensions (and I expect hell will have frozen over before those roads are dealt with).

October: Franco Garcia, leader of the communist faction, decided to complain about the lack of housing for the peasants. As there were already spots marked out for housing I ignored his mewling.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §41,398 in the treasury, with §9,423 in profits and §9,000 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Emilio Rojas, Franco Garcia (sadly, I suppose that faction will need to find a new leader), Jorge Herrera, Mickey King, Francine Genre, Elisa Nabors, Eva Vargas, and Rosanna de la Concha. And I must say, I find it very peculiar that this is the second time I have been forced to assassinate an immigrant barmaid. Perhaps they are spies from the United States?

1962

February: Six immigrants arrived by freighter.

September: The fisherman's wharf was completed. As it had been set to the highest priority, this is good, and it will provide more diversity in the food supply, thus raising quality. While I expect some of it may end up being exported, I hold no hope for much profit from it, though perhaps it is true that when a cannery becomes necessary in the future I would see better, for canned fish go for more.

202

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §54,887 in the treasury, with §14,989 in profits and §1,500 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Sandrine Mitterand.

1963

March: A bunkhouse was completed.

July: A bunkhouse was completed.

September: A bunkhouse was completed.

December: Six immigrants arrived by freighter.

My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §75,008 in the treasury, with §20,120 in profits and no special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Armand Thevenin.

1964

April: Seven immigrants arrived by freighter.

May: A bunkhouse was completed.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §82,638 in the treasury, with §7,630 in profits and no special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Carmen Herrera and Pedro Vicario.

1965

January: A new bunkhouse was completed, and Emmitt Norris, leader of the militarist faction, folded a letter into an airplane and shot it over to the palace to complain about our lack of military. They might consider it a sign of weakness, but I consider it unnecessary expense at this time.

May: Six immigrants arrived by freighter.

September: The new teamster's office was completed. This will certainly help in getting goods to where they must go more quickly.

203

December: One immigrant arrived by freighter.

My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §88,983 in the treasury, with §6,344 in profits and no special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Juan Fernández, Enrique Herrera, and Sonja Badenov.

1966

June: The new construction office was completed, this one meant to service the upper southwest section of the island, where industrial structures are slated to be built some time in the future. It will also serve to soon enough help with housing.

204

November: A bunkhouse was completed.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §85,708 in the treasury, with §13,725 in profits and §17,000 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: None, gratifyingly.

1967

January: A bunkhouse was completed.

March: Seven immigrants arrived by freighter.

May: A bunkhouse was completed.

July: A bunkhouse was completed.

August: My aide informed me that the people were once again restless and requesting an election to be held in twelve months. A glance at the report showed that I was presently well-favored at 59/6, so I approved. Emmitt Norris, a militaristic capitalist farmer, was to be my opponent.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §86,492 in the treasury, with §20,783 in profits and §20,000 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Olivier Regaud, Cecil Racine, Evan Sheridan, Erin Racine, and Antonia del Sur.

1968

February: Eight immigrants arrived by freighter.

July: My aide alerted me that the vote favored me by 90%, and inquired as to whether or not I wished to 'interpret' 20% of the ballots in a way more favorable to myself. Naturally, I declined, knowing that the peasants were no more cognizant of my true nature than a decade ago.

August: One immigrant arrived by freighter, and I ordered the construction of a bank and a college. However, I set the priority for the bank to nonexistent, so that the lazy workers would ignore it for the time being. Also, I won the election (naturally) at 59/9.

205

September: Elisa Encarnación, leader of the local capitalists, decided to send a missive to complain about lack of industry and tourism. I used the back of the letter as scratch paper for keeping notes in the game I was, at that time, playing.

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §68,697 in the treasury, with §7,005 in profits and §24,800 in special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Raul Cornelius, Thierry Regaud, Erwin Krupp, and Osvaldo Nuñez.

1969

October: Nine immigrants arrived by freighter. I ordered the construction of eight apartment buildings, a second pub, and a police station.

206

December: My aide presented me with the yearly report. We had §83,954 in the treasury, with §15,257 in profits and no special expenses.

The hovering dawn of a new year was my signal to begin a culling. Those who tragically met with death were: Mateo de la Concha and Marvin Andrews.
